Tanya Zeyen, Animal Care Expert and Devoted Pet Lover to seven-year-old cat Torbie, spends a lot of time in the Okanagan area where her family has a cabin.
Her travels throughout the Valley have led her to discover that a majority of the shops she visits are pet-friendly. A favourite stop is the Grand Union Cafe in Hedley, BC, just off the Crowsnest Highway about two hours south of Kelowna. Visitors can grab a cappuccino while their canine travel companions are treated to fresh bowls of water and dog biscuits.

Expert Tip
Tanya says that when it’s warm enough, pets really appreciate a rolled down car window. It helps to relieve the pressure in their ears and lets them feel the summer breeze in their fur.
