From Ontario’s Great Lakes to Banff’s mountain trails, it’s impossible to separate Venus, a 12-year-old Sable German Shepherd, from outdoor adventure.
Alongside Animal Care Expert and Devoted Pet Lover Valerie Venema, Venus has paddled and splashed in three out of five of the Great Lakes. The lakes offer more than a dozen spots where dogs can swim, including Lake Ontario’s, Cherry Beach (Toronto), Lake Huron’s, Pinery Provincial Park, and Lake Superior’s, Katherine Cove.
Expert Tip
Venus would like to remind pet parents that dogs get insect bites too. Valerie always packs dog-safe bug spray whenever they hit the trails. Venus isn’t a fan of the spray, but admits that the bites are worse.
