During springtime at the Mactaggart Sanctuary Trail Loop in Southwest Edmonton, Emmalee Miller and dogs Buster and Bentley keep an eye out for returning Canada geese.
“I personally prefer nature trails over dog parks because people are few and far between and must keep their dogs leashed, so it’s safer for everyone,” Emmalee says. The loop, she adds, is their go-to trail in any season, geese or no geese.
Expert Tip
Emmalee recommends that dogs have good recall, a good leash, or both before heading out on an adventure. Buster and Bentley also wear Max and Molly Gotcha collars with their information stored in a QR code, in case they’re ever separated from Emmalee.
