Part Jack Russell Terrier, part Shih Tzu, Loki is a small dog keen on big adventure.
Each summer he and Animal Care Expert and Devoted Pet Lover Hunter Baribeau head to Gesstwood Camp, a 30-minute drive southeast of Windsor, for an informal family reunion. The annual tradition is Loki’s time to shine, showing off his hiking and swimming skills and enjoying some off-leash freedom. “Loki absolutely loves nature. He has a great time exploring a new place off the lead,” says Hunter, “and I enjoy watching him.”
Expert Tip
Loki is a shining example of off-leash decorum but his good manners aren’t an accident. Before letting him loose on the trails, Hunter made use of fenced but open areas for the training it took to perfect Loki’s recall.
