Inspired by the way wolves and early canines ate in the wild, the raw food diet first gained popularity as a mostly DIY way of feeding dogs.
Pet parents would give their dogs (often homemade) meals of raw meat, organs, bones, and sometimes fruits and vegetables. But, while it’s easy to understand the appeal of these foods, it can actually be tricky to ensure a dog is getting all the vitamins and nutrients they need from homemade meals.
As raw food diets have become more popular, raw food products that pet parents can purchase have become available in pet stores. And now, there’s Performatrin®’s new line of frozen raw dog food, which is guaranteed to provide dogs with all the elements they require for a balanced diet.
With Performatrin CulinaryTM/MC , pet parents can choose from four different proteins, each of which is fully nutritionally complete. These products take the guesswork out of raw feeding while offering convenience and ease to pet parents who’d like to explore this feeding option for their dog.
The four varieties of Performatrin CulinaryTM/MC are beef, turkey, chicken, and lamb. Each serving is made up of 90% raw ground meat and 10% raw fruits and vegetables (including carrots, zucchini, spinach, broccoli, blueberries, and kelp).
Salmon oil, vitamins, and minerals are added to the recipe to ensure the nutritional completeness of each of the four varieties. The food is prepared raw before being frozen in 8 oz. patties. You can find them in the freezer section of your local Pet Valu store.
Performatrin CulinaryTM/MC has made feeding a frozen raw diet simple and convenient. There is no need to handle raw meat or weigh out portions.
Instead, simply follow the feeding guidelines on the package, removing the number of patties your pet requires daily from the freezer to defrost in the refrigerator the night before.
Once defrosted, the easy-peel packaging allows you to pop a delicious meal into your dog’s dish, give it a little mash with a fork, and serve it up to your patiently (or not so patiently) waiting pup.
The line is sold in 4 lb or 18 lb boxes. Pet parents can choose to stick to their dog’s favourite protein or opt for rotational feeding with an 18 lb multipack featuring turkey, beef, and lamb, or chicken, turkey, and beef.
Frozen raw food is just one option available from a large selection of healthy, nutritionally complete diets in the Performatrin® family of pet foods.
It’s designed for pet parents who are interested in the potential benefits of raw food diets, and who want to be sure they’re feeding their dog complete, balanced, and nutritious meals.
For busy pet parents or for those who aren’t comfortable handling raw meat, it also offers convenience and ease.
In your pet’s eyes, however, probably the best thing about Performatrin CulinaryTM/MC frozen raw is the variety of delicious flavours it brings to their food dish.
