At Squamish Valley Campground, just a half-hour drive north of the city of Squamish, Annissa Fielding and her four-year-old German Shepherd mix, Khloe, revel in their gorgeous surroundings.
Nestled alongside the Squamish river with the mountain range at Tantalus Provincial Park as a backdrop, the campground offers both individual and group camping sites for big family gatherings. “It’s right in the valley,” says Annissa, “with beautiful views and walking trails along the river.”
Khloe and Annissa second the advice that everyone from mental health experts to parents of teens always offer: put away your phone! They know that powering down is good for us and often venture to campsites outside the range of local cell service.
